Women & Wishes was created to provide timely support to middle-income women navigating unexpected life challenges.

Every wish granted is carefully reviewed to ensure that support is directed where it can make the most meaningful impact.

Our process is designed to be thoughtful, responsible, and compassionate.

1. A Wish Request Is Submitted

Women & Wishes serves middle-income women in Broward and Palm Beach counties who are navigating temporary life disruptions such as job loss, illness, divorce, or the loss of a loved one. The women we support typically fall outside traditional federal and state assistance programs, yet still face urgent financial challenges when unexpected circumstances arise.

2. Initial Review

A Women & Wishes Wish Ambassador connects with the applicant to better understand her situation and confirm the details of the request.

This conversation allows the organization to ensure that the request aligns with the mission of Women & Wishes.

3. Board Evaluation

The request is presented to the Women & Wishes Board of Directors.

Each wish is carefully considered to determine:

• the urgency of the need
• the potential impact of the support
• whether the request aligns with the organization’s mission

4. The Wish Is Granted

If approved, Women & Wishes provides support by paying vendors directly rather than providing cash assistance.

This ensures that the support is applied immediately to the need.

Examples of wishes may include:

• auto repairs
• housing assistance
• utility payments
• legal or professional services
• essential home repairs

5. Stability Restored

In many cases, a single wish can prevent a temporary hardship from becoming a long-term crisis.

By providing timely support, Women & Wishes helps women regain stability and continue moving forward with strength and dignity.
