Women & Wishes Received Donation....Making It Possible to Grant Wishes!

FORT LAUDERDALE, FL – Once again Women & Wishes was ecstatic over the generosity of The Jim Moran Foundation. A $10,000 grant was given to Women & Wishes during the second quarter of this year in support of the work that it does to help women transition through life's challenges. This grant came at the perfect time as Women & Wishes had received a number of wish requests to fulfill. With women expressing how difficult life can be, this grant had an immediate impact on those served by the organization.

"We were able to grant some of these wishes right away for essential needs, such as mortgages, utilities, car and child care expenses," said Marion Applegate, President of Women & Wishes.

"Having a wish granted from Women & Wishes has proven to be the one thing that has kept many women in Broward and Palm Beach counties from falling through the cracks. One wish recipient wrote to us and said, 'My mountain was your molehill,'" said Marion. "Stories with happy endings like this are possible because of the generosity of organizations like The Jim Moran Foundation."

Women & Wishes operations are funded through the generous contributions of corporate sponsors and the private sector.

Notes to Editor:

Women & Wishes' purpose is to grant the specific wishes of middle class women who meet their criteria. The organization recognizes the lack of subsidy and intervention alternatives for this special group of women who typically do not qualify for federal, state or local assistance.

Women & Wishes' goal is to extend a hand to assist in meeting women's individual needs, whether confronted with divorce, job loss, medical issues, or any major challenge. They offer the gift of friendship, a willingness to listen, financial assistance, direction, and the comfort of having someone who cares.

Women & Wishes' Mission is to better the lives of women by helping them advance economically, emotionally, educationally and socially. As they work together to fulfill these needs, Women & Wishes will positively impact the quality of the lives of women and their families of all ages.

Founded by automotive pioneer Jim Moran, the mission of The Jim Moran Foundation is to improve the quality of life for the youth and families of Florida through the support of innovative programs and opportunities that meet the ever-changing needs of the community. The Foundation has invested close to $50 million in education, elder care, family strengthening, and youth transitional living initiatives since its inception in 2000 -- with efforts currently focused in Broward, Palm Beach and Duval counties. Through a long-term Grant Agreement, The Foundation's significant funders are JM Family Enterprises, Inc., and its subsidiaries, including Southeast Toyota Distributors, LLC.
